ABOUT THE OWNER
​Lakisha Harris, MA, LCMHCS
​​​Hello! I'm Lakisha, a licensed therapist who started my private practice right after passing her exam! In fact, my business documents were already filed before I even took the exam. After working with agencies full of red tape in my undergrad years, I always knew I wanted to start my own private practice and I did! Immediately! And Alone! I know firsthand what it is like to run a business learning as I went and many times after the fact. Let's just say, there were a lot of "teaching moments", money loss denied claims, and/or not filed. I needed a community, and that is exactly what I desire for you!
With over eighteen years of experience working with youth, parents, and families in different roles I am now a Mental Health Therapist and Parent Coach at Harris Counseling and Coaching PLLC. I continue the work to meet the needs of adults, families, and youth but I also know that healing comes in many facets and many of us need more than one approach. I truly desire for ALL people to live in their true healing power but it can be hard when people don't know about the services, they don't know if they can trust the service, and often they may not even know what services they need. This is why The Healing is Power Center was created. My desire is to create a safe place where healers can come, meet, network, and learn from each other but also where clients can feel safe knowing they are going to get what they need from a trusted source. We focus on traditional and non-traditional healing approaches. From therapist to coaches, fitness to nutrition, parenting to financial wellness, and everything in between! If you are a provider that seeks to help others heal you are our Community! I just believe that we can be better healers when we are better businessmen and women. My desire is to help you do that!!
Clients who come to The Center will come here as a one-shop stop! If they need it, we want to have it or at least know who and where to direct them to. I invite you to be a part of this community of healers! The Healing is Power Center - Is focused on ALL things Healing! We can't wait to serve our Healers and the many Clients that will visit us!
​Lakisha earned her BS in Criminal Justice from UNC-Charlotte and MA in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in NC and an Accredited Parenting practitioner with the Triple P parenting model. Lakisha is trained and specializes in working with children who have experienced trauma, parenting concerns, depression, anxiety, and adults healing from relationship hurt.
Lakisha is the author of "Every Women's Little Black Book - Heal. Date. Thrive!" A guide to help women heal from unhealthy romantic relationships.
